Studio Rental Terms (Hourly Booking)

The following outlines the rules and regulations as it pertains to renting our space for hourly bookings. You will be asked to agree to these terms prior to completing your booking. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Terms & Conditions for Studio Rental

These terms and conditions (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement") govern the rental and use of the photography studio (hereinafter referred to as the "Studio") provided by CK CREATIVE CO (hereinafter referred to as the "Studio Provider") to the Renter (hereinafter referred to as the "Renter"). By booking and using the Studio, the Renter agrees to comply with these terms and conditions.

1. Booking & Payment

  • The full rental fee is due at the time of booking and must be paid via the online booking tool.

  • A booking is considered confirmed only when full payment is received.

  • Upon completing the booking, the Renter will receive a digital entry code via email. If the code is not received, please check spam folders and reach out to hello@ckcreativeco.ca if still not received.

2. Insurance Requirement

  • All renters must provide proof of an active business liability insurance policy.

  • CK CREATIVE CO must be named on the renter’s policy or the renter must provide proof of a current insurance policy before their rental begins.

  • If the renter does not have existing coverage, they may obtain temporary event coverage through Duuo or another provider.

  • Renters without insurance will not be permitted to use the space.

3. Studio Use

  • The Studio is rented solely for photography, videography, and related activities.

  • The Studio may not be used to create pornographic content.

  • Smoking, vaping, drug use, and alcohol are strictly prohibited in the Studio.

  • Renters may move furniture and props but must lift items rather than drag them to prevent damage.

4. Liability & Damages

  • The Studio is not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses that occur within the Studio. Renters assume full responsibility for themselves and their guests.

  • Renters are responsible for any damage that occurs during their rental period. Damages will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and the renter will be invoiced for any necessary repairs or replacements. Below are examples of minor vs. major damages:

    Minor Damages (Normal Wear & Tear, No Charge)

    • Light scuffs or small marks on furniture or floors.

    • Minor wrinkles, footprints, or marks on used sections of photography paper backdrops.

    • Slight misalignment of props or furniture (as long as they are returned to their original condition).

    • Dust, light debris, or minimal mess that can be easily cleaned

Major Damages (Chargeable Repairs or Replacement Required)

  • Deep scratches, dents, or significant scuffs on furniture, floors, or walls.

  • Rips, tears, or stains on upholstery, rugs, or furniture.

  • Photography backdrops damaged beyond use (e.g., large tears, water damage, excessive dirt making them unusable).

  • Structural damage to the backdrop stands or other studio equipment.

  • Damage to studio props, including broken lamps, shattered mirrors, or cracked surfaces.

  • Leaving excessive mess, food spills, or garbage that requires deep cleaning beyond standard use.

Renters are expected to report any damages immediately. Any necessary charges will be billed based on the extent of the damage and the cost of repair or replacement.

5. Cancellation & Refunds

  • Cancellations five or more business days before rental: Full refund.

  • Cancellations within five business days or no-shows: No refund.

  • In the rare event that the Studio becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.

6. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • The Renter must leave the Studio clean and organized, as it was provided.

  • If additional cleaning or furniture rearrangement is required beyond standard use, a $200 cleaning fee will be charged.

  • Permanent alterations (affixing items to walls, furniture, or floors) are not permitted without prior approval.

7. Electrical Use & Equipment Safety

  • Photography lighting, computers, and chargers are welcome, but please do not overload outlets or use high-energy-consuming equipment.

  • Only one kitchen appliance at a time – Our electrical system can’t handle multiple high-wattage appliances running simultaneously.

  • No personal space heaters or high-wattage devices with out written approval from The Studio.

8. Extended Bookings & Overtime

  • Renters must vacate the studio by their scheduled end time to ensure smooth operations and availability for other bookings.

  • Overtime beyond the rental period may be billed at an additional hourly rate and is subject to studio availability.

  • Failure to leave the studio on time may result in loss of future booking privileges.

9. General Conduct

  • Respectful & Professional Behaviour: CK Creative Co. is a space designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and a positive community. Renters and their guests are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times.

  • Zero Tolerance Policy: We have a zero-tolerance policy for unprofessional, rude, or disrespectful behaviour. Any actions that make other members or guests feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or unwelcome will result in immediate removal from the premises and potential loss of future booking privileges.

  • Shared Space Consideration: During shared hours, please keep noise levels reasonable and be mindful of others working in the space.

  • Respect for Others: Treat fellow renters, studio staff, and the space itself with care and consideration. CK Creative Co. is a place for creative professionals to thrive—let’s keep it that way!

  • Right to Revoke Access: The Studio reserves the right to revoke access to the studio for anyone whose actions, conduct, or behaviour do not align with our values of respect, professionalism, and community collaboration. This includes both renters and their guests.
